Play Melodies in Ear Training
The final ear training stage — hear a short sequence of notes and reproduce it on the keyboard. Five levels build from stepwise motion to chromatic passages in any key.
Navigate to the Melodies stage
Tap Listen in the bottom nav, then expand the Melodies card — it's the third and final stage, colored purple. Inside you'll find five levels, each unlocked by earning at least one star on the level before it. Tap a level to reveal the Practice and Challenge buttons, then choose your mode to start a session.

ListenHow a round works
Each question plays a short melody — a sequence of , , and other notes in succession — and your job is to reproduce it on the on-screen keyboard one note at a time. Note slots at the top of the screen show your progress: a purple dot marks the current note, and slots turn green as you play them correctly. When all slots are filled, tap the Submit button to confirm your answer and see your result.
How difficulty increases across levels
Level 11 starts with 3-note sequences using only stepwise motion in — for example . Each level adds length and complexity: Level 12 introduces small skips, Level 13 extends to 5 notes across any major key, Level 14 adds sharps and flats, and Level 15 reaches 8-note sequences with chromatic options and mixed quarter and eighth note rhythms.
Scoring and streaks
Each correctly played melody earns 100 base points. A streak multiplier kicks in at 5 consecutive correct answers (×2) and climbs further at 10 (×3) and 15 (×4). In Practice mode a health bar tracks your session — it drains on wrong answers and recovers a little after 3 correct answers in a row. In Challenge mode you have 60 seconds to answer as many as possible; there are no lives, but wrong answers cost you time and break your streak.
Read your results and find weak spots
After each session the summary screen shows your accuracy ring, stars earned (1 star at 70%, 2 at 85%, 3 at 95%), total points, and best streak. A 'Notes to practice' section lists any notes or melodic patterns you missed more than once. Stars persist as your best-ever result per level — you only need to beat your previous score to see them improve.
Tips for building melodic memory
Sing or hum the melody back to yourself immediately after hearing it — this converts a passive listen into an active recall. Start by locking in the first note relative to the tonic before mapping the rest of the sequence. If you keep stumbling on leaps or wider skips, spend a session in the Intervals stage drilling those intervals in isolation before returning to Melodies.
