Import a MusicXML file and it opens as a Compose composition, with its notes, chords, ties, key, time signature, and tempo intact — split across the grand staff just as it was written. Compressed .mxl files (MuseScore's default) are unzipped for you. A short progress spinner keeps you posted while a large multi-part score is read, then the new composition opens ready to play.

Take your work out
Export any composition to an uncompressed MusicXML 4.0 file that opens cleanly in MuseScore, Sibelius, Dorico, and Logic Pro. Tiny Instrument splits your parts across the grand staff at middle C, spells each pitch correctly for your chosen key, and quantises the rhythm to standard note values — tying notes across barlines where they belong. Pick the key at export time; the composition's own key is offered by default.

Send a composition out from the macOS File menu, the Compose share button, or a right-click on any composition in your library. On iPhone and iPad the import chooser lets you pick MIDI or MusicXML from one clear menu, each with a one-line description, so there's no guessing which button does what.
