Set Up Practice Notifications
A daily reminder at the right time is one of the most effective ways to build a practice habit. Set it once and let the app nudge you.
Open Progress & Notifications settings
Open Settings and tap Progress & Notifications. This section controls your daily practice reminder, streak tracking, and milestone notifications.
Open in app
Progress & Notifications settingsEnable the daily reminder
Toggle Daily Practice Reminder on. If you haven't granted notification permission yet, iOS will prompt you to allow it — tap Allow so the reminder can be delivered. Once allowed, a time picker appears below the toggle.
Choose a reminder time
Tap the time picker and set the time that works best for your schedule. Consistent times tend to work better than variable ones — your brain starts to associate that time slot with practice. Common choices are first thing in the morning, after lunch, or in the early evening before other wind-down activities.
Streak and milestone notifications
Tiny Instrument can also notify you when you hit practice milestones — 7-day streaks, lesson chapter completions, and similar achievements. Toggle these on individually in the Notifications section. They're delivered sparingly so they feel meaningful rather than routine.
Schedule reminders from lessons
You can also schedule a reminder for a specific lesson or practice session directly from the app. Long-press any lesson row in the lesson list and tap Remind Me. A date and time picker appears, and the reminder badge shows on the lesson row once it's set.
