On Screen Keyboard settingsSet the note range
Use the Lowest Note and Highest Note pickers to define which part of the keyboard is visible. A wider range shows more keys but makes each key smaller — useful on iPad or when playing chords. A narrower range zooms in for more precise control, ideal for single-hand practice on iPhone.
Show labels on keys
Three overlay options are available:
• Show Note Names on Keys — displays letter names (C, D, E…) on each key
• Show Scale Degrees on Keys — displays scale degree numbers (1, 2, 3…) relative to the current root
• Show Fingering on Keys — displays suggested finger numbers during scale and chord practice
All three can be on at the same time, though combining all three can make the keyboard feel crowded on smaller screens.
Enable auto-expand
When Auto Expand Keyboard is on, the keyboard widens automatically to fit any notes that arrive outside the current range — from a MIDI keyboard, MIDI file playback, or Aria. The keyboard snaps back to its default range when playback stops. Leave this off if you prefer a fixed, predictable layout.
Turn on haptics
Use Haptics adds a subtle tap feedback when you press a key on iPhone or iPad. It reinforces the physical feel of playing without being distracting. Haptics require a supported device and respects the system-level Haptics & Vibration setting.
